Aperture Logos by Zeptozephyr Aperture Logos by Zeptozephyr
Here are all the Aperture Logos from the Portal series, vectored and in .ai and .svg format

There is some discrepancies from these, and what you might see on other computers, as the images were adjusted to have appropriate proportions.

Edit - version 1.2 - I recently became aware of another Aperture Science logo, this one seen only on Chell's jumpsuit. I also added the complete Aperture logo. I also edited the 1945 Aperture Science very slightly to more accurately reflect the in game logo.
Edit - NOTICE - this image has been lifted and placed on Reddit, Memebase, and other sites without my permission.

(Very old apeture logo)
Ahh... such nice memories...
(Improved old apeture logo)
Still good even with the huge and small lines through it...
(Apeture fixtures logo)
You ruined it by Doing a circle with a vertical line, horozontal line, and diagnol lines
(Aperture Science Invonations and 1980 apeture logo)
Looking good!
(Apeture 1970 logo)
BOOOOO!
(Aperture 1980 and 2010 logo)
Both good...
(2020 aperture logo)
You ruined it by Putting Wheatley instead of apeture, BOOOOO!

I'm not sure, but many of them are custom vectors, but if you are curious which ones Valve uses, try MyFonts.com's WhatTheFont web app, which can guess pretty accurately any font from any image

Hey I LOVE this whole thing! I was just wondering if you would be willing to take each logo out and make it it's own picture. The only reason I ask is because I am trying to set up a computer theme where the background starts as the oldest concept logo and progresses all the way through wheatley laboratories. If you don't no problem this picture is still GREAT.

Thanks,

Oris345

IF you hit download - you can download them all in vector format. They are editable with programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, or Inkscape (which is free)

To support your previous statements to other people, I'll just give you the proof that no more then 20 years have passed since Portal 1, that I have found.
In the very beginning of Portal 2 we are in the Extended Relaxation Center, in which Chell was since the end of Portal. If we take a look at the other containers in the center, we will notice that each one "expires" exactly 20 years after being packed. That means that the Extended Relaxation Center can only keep people alive for so long.
Considering the disrepair of the system and that by 20 years in storage the life functions are almost completely terminated, we can say for sure that it has been less then 20 years since the end of Portal.

Your theory is a rather interesting one indeed. While it's true that Portal 2 could be set somewhere in the 2020s, you should take into account the fact that the announcer did not specify whether you truly were asleep for 999-something days or some other unit. Based on that account, it would be reasonable to assume that the amount of time passed were actually calculated in hours. This would easily span a decade or more.

Very true. I did not take that into account, but it does not change my overall theory, that Portal 2 took place less than 20 years after the first. Thanks for your input!!!!

actually in the beginning of the game the opening line is "hello you have been in suspension for 50 days" after the time skip it was "hello you have been in suspension for 999999" assuming it was 999999 days. divide that by 365 to find years and you get 2738. and assuming that the first game took place in the 1980's that means the the second game took place somewhere around the year 4718. case closed!!

case reopened...

This is about the third or fourth time I have had to explain this, so I will repost my some of my main points.

Introduction
Actually, no one really knows when Portal 2 takes place, the only clue being the Aperture Science Announcer saying that you have been in stasis for "nine-nine-nine-nine-ni" after which he cuts out. This calculation is assumed to be false as a vast majority of Aperture Science's AI personalities are extremely corrupt. Portal 2 is believed by most VALVE enthusiasts to occur after Portal and Half life 2, but not more than a decade after the latter. Think about this - if it had truly been almost 300 years (or more) after Portal, wouldn't the Enrichment center be in a much greater state of disrepair than it already is? And of the older test chambers, they would certainly have broken down by that time. For these reasons and many others, Portal 2 is thought to occur around 2020 or so, roughly 10 years after the first.

Lets look at the facts,
First of all, and this is very important. Aperture Science is located in an old salt mine in Michigan, USA. It was NEVER found by the Combine. If it had been, they would have stripped it of its considerable technology (some of which considerably more advanced then their own). Also important to understand about the Combine, they did not take over the entire world, just most of it. In the Half Life series there are countless hints toward resistances not just in Eastern Europe (where Half Life takes place) but also all over the globe. It is not inconceivable that there are many areas (such as White Forest) where the Combine had yet to penetrate by the end of Half Life 2 Episode 2.

Second, and this is also VERY important, VALVE, in typical fashion, never said ANYTHING exact length of time between Portal and Portal 2. They have kept this very secret. Now If you look at their press interviews, they hint that it is not as long as you might think...
---
IGN: There's a lot of big figures being knocked around about the time between the two games...

Erik: They're not literal numbers...
---
This is a brief excerpt from one such interview, where IGN is referring to the Aperture Science Announcer saying it has been "nine-nine-nine-nine-ni" days. Erik Wolpaw a designer on the Portal 2 and you can believe that he knew EXACTLY what he was saying.

Third, degradation is a key clue to the amount of time that between the game. Now remember, at the end of Portal, a MASSIVE explosion ripped through Aperture, causing enormous damage to the facility. This is important, because it led to the opening of Aperture to the outside environment, allowing plants, crows, and other natural organisms and reactions to take place. You can imagine that this would, pretty rapidly, start to degrade Aperture Science. Now you brought up an important point - robotics. Aperture is a self sustaining facility, and repaired itself in a matter of hours using advanced robotics. These were not active between Portal and Portal 2, because they are activated by GlaDOS, who was not functional during this time.

Thank you for your interest in my artwork and the Half Life and Portal universe. I truly appreciate it. For the reasons outlined on this comment as well as the other comments I have posted on this piece, I feel very confident in estimating a roughly ten year time span between the two Portal games.

about the degradation, it took 50 years for prypyat to become fully overgrown in the way the aperture science building looked at the start of portal two, so that means portal 2 might take place 50 years after portal 1, whenever that took place.
